It can be used As an excellent substitute for graphite, stainless steel, metal titanium, metal tantanum, hastelloy, fluoroplastics and other traditional materials.
Silicon carbide heat exchanger is mainly composed of shell, tube plate, heat exchange tube, head, seal, etc. It has simple and compact structure in lower cost.
The sealing of the SiC tubes is based upon a double-sealed o-ring system on both sides of tubes. Double tube plate design makes it possible to separate the process fluid and the service fluid with a separate chamber, so that no mix will occur between the two fluids when o-ring system was damage & leakage . The chamber of shell can be pressurized at a higher pressure than single-seal system to avoid leakage of o-ring system.
Silicon carbide heat exchanger canbe special designed for various applications. Suitable components will be assembled depending on charactor of specific medium. The shell material canbe use stailess steel, PTFE lined steel or glass lined steel according to the anti-corroson requiements.
High Thermal Conductivity - The thermal conductivity of silicon carbide is much higher than other corrosion-resistant materials. When apply as heat transfer element in heat exchangers, it uses less heat exchange area under the same heat transfer efficiency, allowing smaller size and reducing space occupation.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance - silicon carbide material has charactor of extremely high corrosion, oxidation and erosion resistance for high concentration of sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, mixed acid, strong base, oxidant, etc. It is the only anti-corrosion ceramic material that resistant to hydrofluoric acid.
Excellent Thermodynamic Properties - Silicon carbide is a hexagonal crystal with a specific gravity of 3.20-3.25 and a microhardness of 2840-3320 kg/mm2. It has stable chemical properties, high thermal conductivity, small thermal expansion coefficient, high hardness, high strength, light weight and excellent service life. Excellent wear resistance and permeability resistance under extreme high temperature and high pressure conditions. SiC tube allowed medium to pass at high speed.
